UPDATE: Monitoring and Visibility into z/OS Connect EE APIs with IBM Z OMEGAMON for JVM on z/OS v5.4.0 SPE1

In October 2016, we announced updates to IBM OMEGAMON for JVM on z/OS V5.4.0. which included a major update around IBM z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition (z/OS Connect EE) request monitoring.
As businesses continue to open up Mainframe assets to new applications through z/OS Connect APIs, it has never been more important to ensure that these interactions are carefully managed to avoid outages and overall negative impact. The key challenge for operations team is that these new drivers of workload may be less predictable than their previous levels when accessing mainframe assets. IBM OMEGAMON for JVM on z/OS does not just help the IT Operations teams monitor these workloads, it offers exceptional insights into the z/OS Connect API request performance.

Today we are pleased to announce further API monitoring enhancements in IBM OMEGAMON for JVM on z/OS V5.4.0,. APAR OA56263 delivers extended API request performance metrics to assist IT Operations, Application Owners and domain Experts interpret z/OS Connect API and Service related KPIs.
The extended z/OS Connect request monitoring capabilities include API-Method request times, z/OS Connect constituent time and the Systems of Record (SoR) information or Service provider specific details.
Key Metrics available:

• Individual API-Method request times, Service name and type, Target Application, Target transaction/program, Service connector, Response Times, multiple counts;

IBM Tivoli OMEGAMON Performance Management Suite for z/OS, and
IBM Tivoli OMEGAMON for z/OS Management Suite.
