Hot Off The Presses: Introducing Application Performance Analyzer for z/OS Version 14.2

The Chinese Zodiac tells us that 2019 is the year of the Pig. But we'd like to think that 2019 is the year of Version 14.2. While our competition is content with the status quo, we just can't help restlessly reinvent our offerings. Continuing on our Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) schedule, IBM Application Performance Analyzer for z/OS V14.2 builds atop our previous version, and brings with it the following enhancements:

    • Full RMODE64 support (Applications executing above the 16MB Virtual Storage Line)

    • New Virtual Storage Map in the S01 Report

    • Expansion of the R02 Observation List; including new System ID, Expiry, and Duration columns that are natively displayed for MOD5 sessions, or PF11 for MOD2/3/4

    • CAZCNFG0 support for additional system symbols: HLQ, Checkpoint, DSN, CDS, SecurityHLQ, LogHLQ

    • COBOL TEST(SEPARATE) source program mapping support

    • Removal of the (deprecated) dynamically loaded Java JVMTI agent

    • Support for Enterprise COBOL for z/OS, V6.3

    • Eclipse client additions

        • Eclipse 4.8 (Photon) support

        • Locally stored templates (save/load observation requests)

        • New columns added to the Observations List (System ID and Duration)

We continue to enhance Application Performance Analyzer's capabilities based off of your feedback, and we take Requests for Enhancement (RFEs) very serious. As part of our commitment to you, we'll continue on our quarterly Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery schedule. You can expect to see many more enhancements through this year as we continue to support DevOps, Hybrid Cloud, and Open Mainframe initiatives. Application Performance Analyzer for z/OS can be found bundled in the newest version of Application Delivery Foundations for z/OS (ADFz), more information can be found here
