As mentioned a few weeks ago the community release Node.js v6.x. While that release included support for PPC little endian, I’m now happy to report that support for AIX, Linux on PPC big endian and LinuxOne/Linux on Z is now available as well. As before these can be downloaded from IBM developerWorks here: https://developer.ibm.com/node/sdk/ with a tab for v6.x. (you can get there indirectly from https://nodejs.org/en/download/ as well).
6.x will be the “current” release for the next 6 months at which point (in October) it will transition to LTS and be the recommended level for production. Until then it’s a good option for early adopters and those who want to test out the latest features. For more information on the LTS plan check it out here: https://github.com/nodejs/lts.
