Andrew Coleman, IBM Cloud
I am a senior software engineer at IBM, specializing in application integration. For the past 17 years, I’ve been a key contributor to the IBM Integration Bus product. Currently, I am focusing on the integration of cloud-based services with traditional, on-premises enterprise applications.
I’ve spent many years working with XPath and XQuery, and developed the XPath processor in IBM Integration Bus. I currently chair the W3C XML Query Working Group, the standards committee responsible for the XPath and XQuery family of specifications. I’m also the editor of the XSLT and XQuery Serialization spec.
I strongly believe in supporting open standards and open source software. As well as enabling interoperability between products and systems, it gives everyone free and unlimited access to high quality software and allows enthusiastic developers to become contributors to large products without having to be employed by a software house. This helps bring new talent into the industry.
Outside of work, I enjoy sailing, walking, and camping with my family.
