Learn how to deploy a Spring Cloud Task from your local machine to IBM Cloud Foundry using IBM Cloud DevOps.

Step-by-step

  1. Deploy the task application to IBM Cloud, create a Git repo, and a toolchain

    Execute the following commands from the Eclipse project directory.

  2. Configure access from your machine to your new Git repo

    Follow the steps in this recipe: Connect to an IBM Cloud Git repo from your local machine

  3. Configure the DevOps pipeline to build from the Git repo using Maven

    Perform the following actions on IBM Cloud DevOps. You can just go with the defaults as shown on the screenshots unless you want to modify something, such as Maven build details.

  4. Set up your local repo, modify, and push to the IBM Cloud Git repo

    You can use Eclipse or any other text editor to make changes the java application file. The example below uses a “sed” command to do that from command line.

  5. Observe the automatic build and deployment of your Spring Task using the DevOps pipeline
