Hi, I oversee the technical strategy for the application development for our social and collaboration portfolio, which has its home here on IBM Connections Developers.
I came into IBM through an acquisition of a tiny (6 people) company in 1994 and have been working on different parts of our collaboration portfolio since. I originally focused on APIs and enterprise integration tools like Lotus Enterprise Integrator, but in 2006, after returning from an international assignment at our Dublin lab, I became the technical lead for a small project that grew into IBM Connections. Following about five years in that role, I’ve been working on cross-portfolio efforts and aspects of our cloud offerings, and most recently app dev.
Ever since designing, coding, testing, documenting and supporting my first marketed API over 20 years ago, I’ve taken the view that application development and APIs deserve the same level of planning and design as any other part of a product or service and have pushed that view on every project I’ve led or been part of. Because of this background and perspective, I think that IBM Connections Developers is a great opportunity to continue practicing that approach as we continue to expand APIs and app dev capabilities for our collaboration and social cloud offerings.
The team building and enabling this site and bringing together the capabilities from our portfolio here brings a great deal of history around app dev and knowledge and experience from across our offerings, and it has been and continues to be a great opportunity to work with them and to continue my ongoing engagement with our partner community. As my colleagues have done, I encourage you to reach out to me, to them and to each other with questions, suggestions, ideas or comments.
