IBM Spectrum Control is a comprehensive solution that can significantly improve monitoring, automation and analytics capabilities in your storage environment. By always increasing the comprehensive monitoring capabilities of the entire data path, IBM Spectrum Control provides you with the tools to proactively resolve any issues before they happen from a single point of control.
In IBM Spectrum Control Version 5.3.5, you continue to get new features and enhancements that enable you to manage your storage, when you want and how you want – all from a single pane of glass!
You might have a mix of IBM and non-IBM in your storage environment and you want to monitor and report on the health and asset capacity of your entire environment from a single point of view.
In IBM Spectrum Control Version 5.3.5, third party monitoring is extended to include Dell EMC Unity and NetApp ONTAP 9 block and file storage systems. You can monitor storage capacity and inventory and report on them directly in IBM Spectrum Control.
The capacity values have been updated to better reflect capacity usage in devices that support hardware compression. Your storage administrator can now see capacity, such as pool capacity and allocated space, that is measured based on the physical capacity of the device, rather than the effective capacity.
IBM Spectrum Virtualize family
Other enhancements provide more detailed information for monitoring with the IBM Spectrum Virtualize family. Additional performance metrics were added that enable to monitor the configuration and understand how the ports are used, for example, iSCSI (IP Port) configurations. Alerting is also supported for IP ports.
Also, you can monitor IBM Spectrum Virtualize for Public Cloud storage systems. You can view information about the capacity, space usage, and performance of the storage systems.
Other features, such as alerting, health monitoring, advanced analytics, and reporting are also supported.
