IBM Code Bristol meetup – AI API’s with Node-RED and Creating your own custom Visual Recognition Model

January 28, 2020

This workshop will begin with an introduction to Node-RED which is a Visual tool for wiring together hardware devices, APIs and online services in new and interesting ways. It provides a browser-based editor that makes it easy to wire together flows using the wide range of nodes in the palette that can be deployed to its runtime in a single-click.

Following this, there will be an overview of Watson API’s which you can use to build cognition into your application.

We will focus on two Watson API’s in our hands-on workshop

1) Visual Recognition – Build a quick Node-Red application on IBM Cloud Using Watson Visual Recognition to analyse content of images
2) Natural Language Understanding – Create a Node-RED flow to analyse semantic features of text input.
3) Custom Model – We will then use Watson Studio to create and test a custom Visual recognition model with a set of example images

This is a hands-on session so please bring a laptop along!
