Bit.ly announced it has selected IBM as its cloud provider of choice and will be moving its 25 billion short URLs to the IBM cloud platform. The announcement was made jointly with IBM at Interconnect 2016. Turbo Todd Watson reports on the details of the announcement:

Bit.ly selected IBM’s cloud platform for it’s high-spead, scale, and global reach.

The move will give Bit.ly customers a faster, more responsive experience.

Bit.ly’s API will be moved and surfaced on the IBM Cloud.

The global scale and speed are crucial to Bit.ly customers because over 70% of their links are delivered internationally.

Bit.ly links get over 12 million clicks per month.
