Node-RED is an open-source graphical development tool that helps you rapidly create applications, especially event-driven applications, like IoT applications. It can be installed anywhere node.js can run, including IoT devices like a Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone, or Intel Edison.
Brian shows how to install and run Node-RED from the JS Foundation project site into a cloud environment (the IBM Bluemix cloud environment) and on his Raspberry Pi. Brian provides a high-level overview of the nodes that are available and how to install nodes into your Node-RED instance. Node-RED comes pre-installed on Raspberry Pi, and also includes some nodes for controlling your Pi.
