The Zowe open source project was created to host technologies that benefit the IBM Z platform from all members of the Z community (integrated software vendors, system integrators, and z/OS consumers). In this presentation, Michael Bauer, Product Owner & Zowe CLI Squad Lead at Broadcom, provides a general overview, information on how to leverage and extend the components, and several popular use cases including bringing DevOps to the mainframe. In particular, he will show how you can enhance a COBOL CICS Db2 application using modern tooling, plus you will see how the Zowe CLI enables you to automate the compilation, deployment, and testing of this application from your development environment and as part of a pipeline. Zowe is hosted by the Open Mainframe Project under the Linux foundation.
