What’s in the Liberty profile beta for July/August?

Since the last beta, we’ve done loads of bug-fixing to make this beta more stable and complete. We’ve managed to slip in a few new things though, such as:

  • WriteListener prototype for use by Servlets and Filters
  • Support for ServletContext.getVirtualServerName()

Of course, everything from the previous beta is still in there so you get that with fewer bugs. Win!

What’s already in there?

In the June/July beta, we added some support for Real-Time Communications (WebRTC) and CouchDB. Before that, in May, there was JMS 2.0, JPA 2.1, bean validation 1.1, JSON-P 1.0, and EJB 3.2 Lite. That was on top of things like Servlet 3.1, OpenID Connect, Java 8 toleration, WebSockets, a facelift for the Liberty Repository… Go take a look at the April betas announcement for a full list.
