Get the WAS Liberty beta in four simple steps:
- Install WebSphere Developer Tools into Eclipse 4.5 for Java EE Developers (Mars) by dragging the button onto the Eclipse toolbar.
- Download the runtime from within the tools, or choose from one of these downloads here:

- Optional The installUtility (located in the wlp/bin folder) can be used to install additional features from the Liberty Repository such as adminCenter-1.0, servlet-3.0, collectiveController-1.0, ndControllerBundle (including adminCenter-1.0 and collectiveController-1.0), e.g.
bin/installUtility install adminCenter-1.0
You can also install all features required by a configured server using:
bin/installUtility install <server name>

Note: When using the `javaee-7.0 zip`, the default server needs additional configuration before applications can be deployed. To learn more, look at the comments in the `server.xml` of a newly-created server.
