IBM Eclipse Tools for IBM Cloud

The Eclipse tools help extend your existing Eclipse or WebSphere Application Server Developer Tools development environment, and expose some of the unique features of the Liberty buildpack such as deploying a Liberty packaged server, debugging, and incrementally publishing applications running in IBM Cloud. In addition, support for deploying JavaScript applications allows you to target your JavaScript project, and then deploy and run your server side JavaScript application in the Cloud. A Java 7 or newer Execution Environment is required.

Installation

Install from Eclipse by doing the following:

  1. An IBM Cloud account is required. Sign up for an IBM Cloud account and find out more about Cloud. Alternatively, you can sign up for an account through the Tools after installing.

  2. If you don’t already have Eclipse, install Eclipse Neon 2 for Java EE Developers ( 4.6.2, which requires a Java 8 Execution Environment) .

  3. Drag and drop the Install button below onto the Eclipse toolbar, then follow the prompts.
