The IBM Envizi platform offers four distinct types of reports, each serving a unique purpose. Let's explore them in detail:

  • Dashboards: Dynamic and graphical representations that facilitate visualization and reporting. These are essential tools accessible at various organizational levels.

  • Power Reports: Enhanced by Microsoft PowerBI, these reports provide visual dashboards supporting reporting and analysis. This article covers their availability, access, and customization.

  • Extract Reports: Envizi allows you to extract specific reports based on selection criteria, offering flexibility in delivery methods, data selection, and scheduling.

  • Envizi API: The Envizi API facilitates data export, allowing you to access and retrieve data directly through third-party software. The tutorial explains its technical aspects and how to leverage APIs for external systems.

Dashboards

Dashboards in Envizi serve as dynamic pages that enable the visualization and reporting of data in a graphical format. These dashboards are accessible at various levels, including Organizational, Group, Location, Account, and Meter, typically found on a Summary page.

Here is the performance dashboard for the entire organization.

Several controls are available in the dashboard:

  • Compare With: Compares the current period with other periods.
  • View As: Specifies the unit of measure for the data in the dashboard.
  • Time Slider: Indicates the current period chosen for display.
  • Filter Funnel : Activates filtering options for Groups, Measures, Regions, and Locations.

Envizi offers a range of important dashboards, organized into categories such as Performance, Benchmarks, Solar, and Meter Alerts. Here is a list of available dashboards for additional information:

Accessing dashboards

To access dashboards, navigate to the Monitor menu in the top navigation. The menu is organized into sections such as PERFORMANCE, BENCHMARKS, and METER ALERTS, each containing sub-menus with the available dashboards.

Envizi API

The Envizi API allows you to export data from the Envizi platform and to access and retrieve information seamlessly through compatible third-party software such as Microsoft Excel, Tableau, or Power BI. This secure process allows you to create and use custom dashboards and reports without logging into Envizi's main user interface.

Built on top of Envizi's existing reporting framework, the Envizi API exposes a curated list of reports as APIs following a certification and validation process. This API uses RESTful architecture, delivers data in JSON format, allowing you to get information in a pre-defined tabular report format for further Business Intelligence (BI) analysis and modification within your chosen client tools.

Key functionalities of using the APIs include retrieving report names, report parameters, and report data.

For a detailed guide on using Envizi API, refer to the Use APIs to expose Envizi data to external systems article.
