Now that the MQ 9.1 KnowledgeCentre has been out for a little while I thought it would be worth drawing attention to an important change for z/OS queue managers. At 9.1 we have removed the OPMODE parameter from the CSQ6SYSP macro.
OPMODE was designed to prevent users accidentally enabling function that would prevent backwards migration to an earlier release level. In MQ 9.1 there isn’t any function that would prevent backwards migration, so we took the opportunity to remove OPMODE as it was often a cause for customer confusion.
Full details on the implications of this removal are described here.
