Onboard your domain to IBM Cloud Internet Services

Integrating your domain with IBM Cloud Internet Services

By Ashwin Hendre, Michael J Turek

Introduction

This tutorial outlines the steps required to add your domain to IBM Cloud Internet Services (CIS). Your OpenShift cluster requires a domain name to expose its endpoints. This process may vary depending on your registrar, so involve a network administrator to accomplish it, if needed.

Create a CIS instance

Perform the following steps to create a CIS instance.

  1. Navigate to IBM Cloud Internet Services.
  2. Select a plan that aligns with your requirements.
  3. Assign a name for easy identification later.
  4. Select the same resource group intended for deploying your cluster.

Add your domain

Perform the following steps to add your domain.

  1. Open your new CIS instance. After creating an instance using the previous steps, you should be automatically redirected.
  2. Click Add domain.
  3. Enter your domain name.
  4. Delegate your domain name by following the steps described in the Setup your domain section. This process may vary depending on your domain management platform.

Summary

With your domain successfully integrated into CIS, you are now ready to run the installer commands and deploy your cluster. The installer will detect the domain within your account and provide it as an option.
