Overview

The three tutorials in this learning path cover topics related to basic Linux system architecture. Upon completion you will understand the common hardware settings and Linux commands for listing and managing hardware. You’ll learn about the boot sequence from BIOS to boot completion including how to give common commands to the boot loader, give options to the kernel at boot time, and check boot events in the log files. And finally, you’ll learn how to shut down or reboot your Linux system, warn users when the system is going down, and alert users about major system events (including switching to another runlevel or boot target).
