CloudMachine learningMobile development
Bring your Mac or use one of ours and go deep into the latest enterprise-ready mobile, machine learning, and cloud technologies available for iOS developers. No need to register as these are free and first-come, first-serve 3-hour workshops.
Whether you are counting cars on a road or people who are stranded on rooftops in a natural disaster, there are plenty of use cases for object detection. Most of the time pre-trained object detection models just don’t cut it and you need to create your own custom models. Join us in this workshop and explore how to use Watson Machine Learning to train your own custom model without substantive computing power and time and then use your custom-trained model to detect objects, in real time, with complete user privacy, all on a mobile device, with Apple’s Core ML.
In this workshop you will get hands on with Server-side Swift and get on the path to becoming a full stack developer, using the example of an app that lets users “check in as safe” after a natural disaster. You’ll write a Kitura server in Swift to handle WebSocket connections from an iOS app. Then you’ll create a RESTful API in just a few lines of code and build your completed app into a Docker container. Then we’ll go live and everyone can test out the completed solution. Together, iOS and Server-side Swift form a powerful partnership – come and find out more about one of the fastest-growing Swift communities.
