Water’s link to climate

According to the World Health Organization, 2.2 billion people around the world do not have safely managed drinking water services, 4.2 billion people do not have safely managed sanitation services, and 3 billion people lack basic handwashing facilities. Even in areas that have these services, people experience vast inequalities in the accessibility, availability, and quality of the services.

Three experts weigh in on how water and climate change are linked and how technology can help solve the problem.

Christoph Gorder, Chief Global Water Officer, charity:water; Niraj Swami, Director, Conservation Technology Strategy & Enablement, The Nature Conservancy; and Daniella Boström Couffe, Communications Manager, UN-Water, each give their perspective on the global problems associated with clean water and sanitation. They also offer suggestions on ways developers can use technology to address these problems, while sharing their respective wish lists for Call for Code solutions.
